Duplex round bars are solid rods made from duplex stainless steel, a metallurgical blend of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel structures. This dual-phase composition provides excellent mechanical strength along with superior resistance to corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and pitting—especially in chloride-rich or marine environments.
Duplex round bars conform to specifications like ASTM A276 and ASTM A479, and are typically supplied in hot-rolled or annealed condition. They offer high yield strength—almost double that of conventional stainless steels—and maintain good weldability and machinability with proper tools.
