Super Duplex pipes are made from highly alloyed stainless steel grades, such as UNS S32750 and S32760, known for their superior corrosion resistance, exceptional mechanical strength, and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking. These pipes have a dual-phase microstructure consisting of austenite and ferrite, which provides twice the strength of standard austenitic and duplex stainless steels. With high levels of chromium (24–26%), molybdenum (3–5%), and nitrogen, Super Duplex pipes are ideal for aggressive environments involving chlorides and harsh chemicals.
Super Duplex pipes are commonly used in offshore oil and gas platforms, subsea pipelines, chemical processing plants, desalination facilities, and power generation systems. They comply with industry standards such as ASTM A790 (for seamless and welded pipe) and offer excellent weldability, fatigue strength, and long-term performance in extreme conditions. Their high resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and erosion makes them a preferred choice for demanding high-pressure and corrosive service applications.
